AM - 9 miles. Finally got out for a run in the new calendar year. The thought of hitting the pavement didn't even cross my mind while we were up in Idaho... we were having lots of fun (and getting plenty of exercise) on the mountain. I love uphill-friendly ski areas... you get the best of both worlds. Ketchum / Sun Valley is awesome - it was quickly added to our "annual trip" list. [Photos]

PM - 4 miles w/ Andrea.

So Utah wasn't cold/high enough...

When is the Jake/Andrea trip to Everest going to hit Netflix? Although maybe it would be a little too crowded for y'all I'm guessing...

Great pictures.

The ski terrain around Sun Valley is actually lower elevation than where we ski in Utah (starting around 6000' instead of 8500'). Very noticeable (and nice) on the uphill efforts.

No Everest for us, but the Alps/Dolomites adventure will hit Napster in the late summer.

PS - that being said about the elevation, it is also 4.5 hours north and therefore 4.5 hours freezing colder!

Yeah... I had the "opportunity" to spend a couple weeks in Fairbanks, Alaska in December one time. I think I'd rather live on the moon.

I'd like to get up to Alaska in the summer at some point, but not in December! You probably get a lot more daylight on the moon.

My dream vacation is ANWR in the summer, but I don't think I'll ever get my wife to go, given the lack of civilization. When you go, PLEASE TAKE ME!

My parents want to go there. Since my sister would probably never be interested, if we ever make that family trip in the next couple summers, I'll ask if you can take her place.

Thanks, tell them I have no problem wearing a wig or a skirt. The Krong family shouldn't miss a beat.
