Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Ran up the dirt road leading to the towers up Thompson Basin this morning.  Turned around at 3 miles after climbing 1,500' kept it steady on the way up and relaxed on the way down.  My poor dog was sore this morning from all the duck and phesant hunting we did this weekend (hence the no runs, but lots of hiking) so I let her rest.

Solid run for me up the canyon to Monrovian then back to the rodeo grounds.  Felt good to be able to climb strong on the paved road.  Just kept it honest on the way back down without pounding it too hard yet.  AP 8:31 with just over 1000' of climbing in the first three miles.

Ran on the trail from the hot springs to the top of the flat on the "elk hill"  Did a 2 mile tempo on the way back, good to keep the feet moving fast with the rocks and snow.  Felt pretty good this morning, but it was cold for sure, in the teens.
