Running on Wolf Mountain was amazing. The N.U.T.S. folks were well organized with great volunteers. Picture perfect day. I fat fingered my Garmin at the start and didn't look at it until the aid station, still read all zeros, so I wasn't able to judge time/distance. The course for the 5K started with a ski lift ride. I was surprized that the trail had so many uphill climbs. As I approached the finish I saw 39+ minutes and I thought, well at least its not 40. Then I realized it was 39:58. With the Garmin working I know I could have pushed it a bit harder. Ended up 16th out of 34, 2nd in AG.
Later in the evening I hit the Three Mile Creek trail. My wife met me later and we power walked a 1-1/8 mile up the canyon and ran back down. 7 miles plus the race for 10.1 total. A great end to the day. |
