My wife and I ran the Hill Air Force Base Firehouse 5k. This is my 3rd year and my wife's 2nd. This was my second race since my injury in April and I felt great. 4 minutes faster than the 5k I ran in September, but still 2-1/2 minutes slower than last year. No back or hip pain at all. I love my new Hoka Mafate shoes. My wife ran a new PR (34:14) by 2:33. The race is a lot of fun, but best of all it is free. After 3 months of almost no running followed by a couple months of very painful running, it is so good to be pain-free and working on building back endurance. |
