Way better than I expected.....Splits were: 6:08, 6:11, 6:03, 5:56, 5:47, 5:45, 5:52, 6:21, 6:01, 6:10, 6:17, 6:21, 6:07, 0:55

I have not recovered well from the marathon four weeks ago and didn't really want to make the trek down to run this race, but it was worth it to knock out one of the races for the runner's series.  My training has been spotty since the marathon.  Legs have not responded well to much of anything lately and I've had some aches and pains that got me a little worried.  Apparently this all added up to a good race for me.  In all reality I was expecting to come in somewhere around 1:24-1:25.  I started out very conservatively and ran the first mile with Rachelle, who I knew I wouldn't be able to stick with today and she gradually coasted away.  Never got too uncomfortable in the first 7 or 8 miles and then once the rollers and flatter portion of the race came I just tried to stay in as good a rhthem as I could. Overall a very good race for me as this is only the second time I've ever broken the 1:20 barrier, despite all the aided courses I run.  I'm sure this race will leave me quite sore for several days.  Looking forward to dialing things back for a bit and getting healthy and then ramping things back up.

Thanks, Matt. Congrats again. Nice to see you get a little revenge back on the marathon. You deserve it with all the effort and work you put in.

Thanks, Tom and Yasir.

You looked comfortable. Good to see you between 8-9. A little marathon legs maybe for you but you are only going to get faster and stronger from here my man. Nice effort today and way to make it happen.

Awesome race Jeff. This is a really great time coming off of SGM.

Such good things to come from you in 2014. Keep on keeping on.
