Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

We were up really late last night at a party for friends who are moving away and Kami's folks rolled into town last night.  So, when I finally got up this morning and saw it was 12 degrees and my father in-law was up for a cup of coffee, I decided to skip the run before church.

After church, it was nice weather outside (35 degrees, calm, partly cloudy) but I was not motivated and Kami asked that I just chill and watch a movie and catch up with her parents.  Sounded like a good idea to me...a nice rest day!

4:30am...7 easy untimed miles with Moxie on a nice morning for a run, 23 degrees and no wind.  Just nice and easy...almost didn't get out of bed, then almost went to the gym but decided outside with the dog was the best idea.  (Tornado)

6.35 miles in 46 minutes at lunch.  Ran the Pancheri loop and did about 2 miles of MP fartleks.  A  good run on a nice day (35 degrees and calm).  (Mirage)

I just couldn't get out of bed this morning.  When I did get up, I had an ache in my right shin and my stomach was upset, so I went back to sleep for 1.5 hours and wil try to get a run in at lunch and/or after work.  I hope to get out because the weather is actually not bad for a run!

No lunch run due to conflicts...maybe after work.  It warmed up a bit, but the wind kicked up too...maybe no run at lunch was for the best!

5 miles in 35:30 with Moxie after work in cool but good weather (42 degrees, light wind).

I am having a hard time getting motivated to get up early and run this week.  Today I barely rolled out of bed, had a bit of a stomach ache and nearly bagged the run again...but I forced myself to go the gym.  If I needed to stop, I could any time there.

1 mile wu at 7:00 pace, then 7 miles at MP progression, from 6:15 to 5:46 pace with 2 0.25M pickups at 5:27 to finish mile 7 and mile 8.  Overall 8 miles in 49:15 for a solid run that I really didn't think I would get done this morning.  Saw Marlin and Mauri which is always a good way to start the day! (Launch)

7 miles in 52:25 on a nice day at lunch. Nice and easy run around the greenbelt and two loops of Freeman Park.  (Mirage)

Slept in today and got the turkey and fixin's going then went out for a run on a beautiful day...sunshine, no wind and WARM!  1.2 miles with Justin then Curt and Idropped him off at home and continued on for a nice easy run with great conversation for about and 4.5 miles.  After leaving Curt, I was running home through the neighborhood and ran into Chelsea and ran with her for about a mile helping her with her form.  Finished off 9 miles in 1:10 for a good Thanksgiving day run.

 Happy Thanksgiving to all on the Blog!

Took the day off to spend with family and in-laws.  Slept in and went to the running store for the pancake feed they were putting on...good eats and good folks!

Went out for a harder run with Moxie on a warmish day, but sustained winds of 20-30mph made it a bit tough.  We ran fairly hard and hit 2 good MP miles and finished off 7 miles in 47 minutes  for a 6:42 average.

Now for a day with the family!  My son and I went to the gym and swam 400m, then our family went to the Museum of Idaho to see the WWII exhibit.

Slept in and went out at 6:30. Met up with Curt and Trevor for a run in 10-12 degrees but calm weather. About 5 miles with Trevor and 10K with Curt, then I ran home to grab Moxie. We ran 4.5 miles together to finish off 11.4 miles in around 1:25. A good run despite the cold.

Went home and then to the gym to do Alana's yoga class with Kami, Curt and Lynette.
