Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Still feeling pretty sick when I got up.  Started to do some yardwork after rest most the morning and that was more than I could take, so another easy day but feeling on the mend.

5am...4 miles with Moxie on a nice morning.  This was a good start to my recovery, still feeling not fully back yet though.  (Ride 3 2015)

10K in 45 minutes (7:15 AP) on a beautiful day at lunch. Nice and easy, feeling much better! (Mirage Red)

3 miles after work with Kami at Community Park before the kids got home from XC practice. (Boost)

4:30am...6 easy miles with Moxie on a cool morning.  Feeling nearly back, still have a bit of a cough and congestion but feeling better finally. (Ride 3 2015)

Beautiful day, wanted to try to push a little pace...with some moderate success.  1 mile wu, then into a slow Tempo run...6:43, 6:37, 6:48 (stopped to stretch tight hip), 6:37, 7:05 (congestion kicking in a bit, slowed second 0.5M), 0.2M cooldown.  10K in a moderate 43:11 (6:57 AP) including slow wu and short cd.  (Mirage Red)

4:30am...5 easy miles with Moxie.  This cold thing has now turned into a possible sinus infection...I am all stuffed up!  Glad now that SGM is off...no way I would want to run it right now, even thinking of calling off COT. (Ride 3 2015)

Strange run at lunch...nearly did not make it as my sinuses were really plugged...first half mile nearly turned back because they hurt when I ran.  But as the run progressed they started feeling better...by mile 4 they felt really good!  Much better after the run than before...ah the theapy of a run in nice weather is real!  10K untimed.  (Mirage Red)

No running today...head about to blow up from this sinus infection. Dr, antibiotics, bed today. Glad I am not heading to St. George for the marathon, it would not work at all.

8am...feeling  much better, head pressure nearly totally gone, but stomach is a bit upset due to antibiotics.  Went out on a cool and overcast morning.  Through the neighborhood and into SRL...nearly 80% of the cars wanted to  run me off the road.  I then ran on the path extension along the river and was accosted by a pack of big dogs whose owner did not want to control!  Ran back along Sunnyside then through the neighborhood again for 10 miles in 1:15.  (Ride 3 2015)

8am...I took Moxie out for 5 miles (39 minutes) then stopped by home to get Justin.  He and I went for 6 miles...1 mile warmup then a 5 mile tempo (6:15, 6:15, 5:54, 6:07, 6:18).  I hit 11 miles in 1:18. When I got back I took Katelyn out for 2 miles.  A good morning of running, even with the continued nasal stuffiness and chest congestion (both Justin and I!).  (Launch 2)

Good job to all my friends racing today...I would not have been up for joining you in St. George but hope to be able to race next weekend in Boise.
