Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6:45am...I slept in and went out for an easy 4 mile run with Moxie before going for a ride with Kami.  We got out about 8am before the wind started up.  South to Shelley up and down the hill near Craig's house then out to the foothills and up Iron Rim.  Started heading home and the wind showed up for a 15MPH headwind most the way home.  Overall 41 miles at a mild average speed.  Great getting out with my hot and athletic wife on a nice morning to exercise!   Now to hang with the kids and watch some World Cup soccer with Justin.  (Fastwitch)

2 miles with Katelyn after dinner then a great game of soccer in the backyard..kids vs. parents ended in a tie!  (Bikila)

4:30am...4 slow untimed miles with Moxie.  Everything was a bit sore and stiff this morning so just a run to get the dog out.  (Ride 3)

6 miles in 43:25 on a beautiful day at lunch.  I was thinking about speedwork or a tempo run, but I was just too stiff and sore so and easy run instead.  Trying to decide if I can fit a HTC run in my schedule in August?  (Mirage Red)

5:30am...too tired and stiff to get up at 4am, so I slept in and went out a bit later.  5 easy but honest paced miles (untimed) with Moxie on a beautiful morning for a run.  (Boost)

6 miles on a beautiful day at lunch in 45 minutes.  Bad GI issues and my back has been hurting all day and started to act up around mile 3.  Not as fun as I was hoping this one would be.  (Mirage Red)

After dinner, ran 2.25 miles with Katelyn through the neighborhood.  Back is very stiff but feels better running than sitting.  Work is killing my back right now.  (Bikila)

10K at lunch in 46:40 running with DanS on a warm day.  Nice to have the company and just chat while moving through the miles around the greenbelt.  Glad today is the last workday for the week! (Mirage Red)

1.3 miles with Katelyn after dinner running through the neighborhood to the soccer game at the school.  She is doing so great...having fun and getting faster.  (Boost)

As of today, have run enough miles this year to make it from Idaho Falls to Birmingham, AL (will stop by to visit Adam W!).

6am...5 miles with Moxie on a beautiful morning.  Ran into Curt and Andrea and ran with them for most of the run.  Got home, dropped of Moxie and went back out with Justin for an easy 6 miles through SRL in 48 minutes.  Lots of flying ants and jerk drivers this morning but great time running and talking with Justin.  A great start to a holiday weekend!  (Boost)

2 miles with Katelyn around the neighborhood at 9am (she slept in late!) very slow as her legs were sore.  (Bikila)

Just and I ran over the park for the race and I ended up with about 1.5 mile warmup.  Looking to be a fast group of runners this morning.  I hoping to push/pull Justin to a fast time (which he did!).  My usual experience at this race...ok first mile, sucky second, ok third.  Thought I had sub-17 today but slowed a bit more in the last stretched and ran 17:14 for my usual range.  Our team got second place but since we were on a team they pulled us out of individual awards (sucks!) even though we all ran in the money, we got none except for the team cash...drat!  Ran a few miles cool down, then ran to my friend Lindy's house to watch the parade.  Afterwards, finished off 1 more mile at home with Justin to finish over 10 miles for the day.

Now for a BBQ with the family on a great holiday!  (Tangent)

Slept in after a late night at the fireworks at the river and at the neighbors.  Went out around 6:30 with Moxie for a casual 10 miles in 1:12.  Then had some coffee with Kami and went out for another 5k with her in 27:27.  Now about to take the kids out for some miles (2 with Katelyn, 4 with Justin)!  I am tired and hungry.  (Fastwitch Red)
