Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Went out with my wife on a beautiful morning for a ride.  26M on the Shelley/Country Club route.  Lots of fun and great ride and conversation.  Felt good to do this instead of a run due to my hip still being a bit tight.  Great start to the day!

Deck umbrella fell off the deck and broke, steamcleaner is not working...not a good finish for the day.

It was a perfect morning for a run, unfortunately I was not up for it as my hip was really sore and I felt nauseous.  Not quite sure what is going on but I went back to bed for a while and will continue to watch this issue.

6 miles on a warm day at lunch, but it really wasn't too bad being in the low 80's.  Total time of 45 minutes.   3 miles solo, 3 miles chatting with Dan.  Hip twinge still there but not as bad running, no nausea anymore.  I wonder if it could be a tight groin as well?  (Cortana)

4:15am...7 easy untimed miles with Moxie on a beautiful morning.  Hip feeling better today but still no speed.  (Boost)

4.25 miles in 28:30 out on the desert at lunchtime.  Hot (90 deg) with a very light breeze.  I didn't heat up until I got back inside to shower, now steaming at my desk! (Cortana)

Another perfect morning for a run and another skipped run.  I was up way to late last night and my hip was jacked again.  Getting tired of this.  Plus just some crap last night and some issues to deal with have me tired.

The 5K tomorrow may be just a race to pace my son to a PR and not a full on effort.

Screw it....10 miles in 1:15 on a warm day.  Hip didn't bother me.  I'm done. Bye. (Cortana)

I ran over to the 5K course with Justin and did a light warm up.  My hip was feeling better but still not 100%.  I decided to race it afterall as I was on a team and we wanted to win it.

17:21, 9th overall behind mostly young guns. Barely beat the 1st woman (collegiate runner at Weber).  $25 for the place, $50 for the team win so not too bad for a slower race due to the hip.  About the same as last year's time even with the twinge so ok today.

  Did a cooldown back home then some solo...9 miles overall this morning.  After sitting at the parade for a couple of hours, now my hips is really sore!  (Boost)

Slept in and went out a bit later in the morning. 6 decent miles with Moxie. Hip is there but not as bad. I will try to go out later with Justin after a day at a baseball game and the pool in Poky.  (Mirage)

18 miles today.  13 miles early running with Andrea and Lynette on the Bellin/Grandview loop.  Easy in 1:41 talking with the ladies most of the time.

5 miles with the entire family...Justin, Katelyn and Kami.  Katelyn rode her bike and Justin did a couple of faster loops of Community Park.

Hip still noticeable but not too sore, hammy a bit stiff.  Decided to skip the race in Island Park to run in town and get some things done around the house, be with the family and go to the Chukars baseball game tonight.  (Mirage)
