Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

3 degrees this morning, no run.  Church then cleaning up the house and finalizing taking down the Christmas decor (including our 15 foot tree).  Used our new vacuum from Christmas, holy crap our old vacuum was a piece of crap!  3 miles later.

It was 1 degree when I got up this morning...did not feel like driving to the gym.  Slammed at work today and no time for a run at lunch.  5 miles after dinner with Moxie just to shake out the legs and burn off energy from the day.  Snowy and icy but felt strong and faster for this run. (Xodus)

It was warmer this morning, but it was super slick outside due to a freezing rain.  This combined with a sore lower back led me to skip early run.  This month is a loss for a good training month due to weather, illness and motivation.  Need to try to find motivation as I need to burn off work stress better.

Tried to sleep in, woke up at 4am.  It was 32 degrees outside with a light dusting of snow.  The conditions besides being a bit slushy were the best I have run in for a while.  5 miles with Moxie then 5 miles solo. (Xodus)

Breakfast with soome buddies then maybe some volunteer work and chores (replace a kitchen faucet) today.

6am..got up early and had coffee and ready (Malcolm Gladwell "David and Goliath") before heading out for a run.  6 miles with Moxie warmer (32 degrees) weather on a path that was mostly dry and clear but had some very slippery icy spots. Dropped off the dog and went back out, hit a icy spot and took my first fall of the winter.  On the way back it started to snow (lightly then heavier) which started covering the ice.  Cut it short at 14 miles as it was getting too risky.
