Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6 miles of XC skiing at the park after 3-4 inches of snow last night.  Also had a good amount of shoveling to do.  Lazy day before life starts to get back to routine (Katelyn back to school, Justin home for 5 more days, I start back at work).

Bad night sleep and windy, cold and snowy outside.  Try to run after work today. OBE so no run. Bummed.

Just could not get up to face the cold (10 degrees) or gym this morning. Went out in the sunshine at lunch for 6 miles. (Guide White)

5:30am...having a hard time getting motivated to run in the cold and dark so far in 2019.  After checking the weather and seeing it was 24 degrees, decided to squeeze in a short run before a busy day at work.  4 miles with Moxie easy. (Guide White)

Not very motivated so far in 2019, maybe due to the cold and dark but really affecting my energy for running and work (and life).  SAD is getting me again this year, first time in about 3 years I remember being this down.

4:30am...6 miles with Moxie on a warmish morning.  Very busy day (but good!) at work so this was my only run.  Men's group in the evening too (nice to start this back up). (Supernova Green)

6am...6 miles with Moxie on snow covered roads in the neighborhood. (Guide white)

Some chores (taking down Christmas stuff, plumber visit) then time with Justin before we take him back to SLC for college tomorrow.

7am...10K on the TM at the gym in 39:30 (6:21 AP).  Good run though I wished Justin would have run outside with me.  Taking him to SLC to start spring semester at college. (Tangent)

Dropping off Justin really sucked, both from the perspective of missing him, but also how it ended in a fit of stress and not a good end to the day. Had a good lunch with the Murphy's but then the stress at his dorm really was a downer.  Not liking this phase of life with our kids and my work...mid-life kinda sucks, let's get to  6 years from now so they are done with school and I can retire.

4 miles after getting back from SLC just to stretch out my legs.  Listened to about 5 Malcolm Gladwell Revisionist History Podcasts on the trip. (Glide Green)
