Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6:15am...dropped off Katelyn at XC practice then took Moxie out for 6 miles.  I dropped her off then did 4 more solo, pushing the last 2 at slow MP.  10 miles total in 1:16.  Nearly got hit by a car while I was in a crosswalk in a bright orange shirt, and the driver got mad at me!  (Launch 2)

4 miles at Community Park with Kami after taking the kids to school. (Launch 2)

Politics on XC team...tired of this crap.

Close call. Glad you are ok. The driver is probably ticked off because he didn't take the day off before the long weekend. So he has to go to a boring job so he can buy stuff he doesn't need.

Yeah, can't wait for the politics bs when my daughter plays basketball this year. I try hard to ignore it all and focus on the long-term. Telling her to work hard and gradually improve herself. Block out the distractions. Hang tough. You know all about that!

Maybe you should ask the school to hire master Jeff's friend Rob Murphy. I hear he's a great coach.

Dogs don't have politics, though we do have alpha dogs. Tails come in handy for signaling who the boss is, too. But all dogs work together to take care of the pups, no politics there.

lots of crazy drivers out there. stay safe. The joy of coaches and sports. Been there and done that. MIH

Here in Utah everyone is a Republican so you have no political dissension anywhere. It's complete paradise.

Dealing with a parent (and a complicit coach) flaunting the rules (because they don't like them). It is not because anyone does not like one another, but because the rules are clear and set the ground rules for fairness.

Rob, if I hear of whiffs of a coaching job up here...
