Running Accomplishments:

Won Park City Marathon (tiny field, slow course, no purse) and Utah Grand Slam in 2006

Marathon: 2:37:04 (St. George 2009)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Train for as solid a race in Boston 2011 as my schedule will allow.  Accept the fact that there isn't room in my life to train for a breakthrough performance and do the best I can under the circumstances.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Lose the all-or-nothing mentality and start using running as an outlet instead of an additional source of stress.

Personal:

I'm married with 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and live in Salt Lake City, where I work as a real estate attorney.

Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

"Julius Caesar," Act I, scene 2, 190-95

Run 1: 4 miles. Wanted to get a few miles in before running neighborhood 5k with Jacob. Very easy pace, but had some fatigue left over from Saturday's run.

Pace: 7:29

AHR/MHR: 166/185

Run 2: 3.12 miles. Neighborhood Memorial Day 5k. Ran with Jacob to help him avoid the temptation to sprint for the first quarter mile and be miserable for the rest of the run.

Time: 29:20. Jacob followed instructions, only had to walk once for about 100 feet, and beat his buddy Zach in a sprint finish, so it was a complete success.

Are you new? Didn't notice you on the new kids place. Any way welcome to the blog. Looks like you have some good talant. Did you do Ogden marathon, I see that is where Sasha snagged you. Are you running a marathon in the fall?

I joined the blog in 2006, right after meeting Sasha, so I think that's why I didn't show up as a newbie, even though I hadn't blogged for 2 years.

I've been fighting a couple of injuries for the past year or so, so I'm just starting to train again. I paced a friend for the final 10k of Ogden but didn't do it myself. I ran into Sasha at the finish line and he talked me into blogging again.

I'll be doing St. George and may run Park City if I'm able to get in racing shape by then. Other than that, the only thing on the docket is Wasatch Back, which I run as part of a non-competitive but fun team of friends.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
