"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Total Distance
9.10

9.1 miles / 8:16 avg. high school track near work. sun, warm, WIND.  5k time trial - since i missed my race this month i decided i'd better at least do a time trial. i ran 4 miles to warmup and went right into the 5k, which i ran in [21:54 (7:04 avg) - 6:49, 7:02, 7:23 + .39 sec] about 20 seconds off my PR, but 35 seconds faster than the 5k i ran in january. not bad considering i haven't slept well the past couple of nights, i woke up this morning with some kind of cold-thingy, it was very windy, and i was alone. 2 miles cool down.

splits: 9:03, 9:00, 8:58, 8:36, 6:49, 7:02, 7:23, 8:59, 8:34

Not bad at all! Very nice. It is soooo windy! I just came from a soccer game and one of the goals blew over. Exciting stuff. Phew..glad we survived. Pretty intense for a minute there.

forgive me because i just learned to read. 20 seconds. 4 miles. still awesome. the progress since january is huge.

lysa and i will try to coordinate better so that we comment at the exact same time and cause the FRB to implode.

that's okay allie, as a fellow "saturday worker" i understand the trials and stresses that come with working "outside the box"...

From JD on Sat, Mar 31, 2012 at 16:45:31 from 97.117.112.193
