"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

8.6 miles / 1:14:54 / 8:43 avg. Lunch run from work. Sunny, 38F. Lot's of energy today and legs felt great. Went easy so as to not aggravate the arch situation in my right foot. No arch pain! But the back of my right heel felt pretty tender. This is a chronic condition I've had for several months, but today it felt worse. I assume the arch pain is related to the heel pain etc. Going to continue monitoring everything and run easy this week.

Mile splits: 9:03, 9:06, 8:47, 8:52, 8:43, 8:43, 8:29, 8:19, +.6 @ 8:04 pace. ( I like to speed up at the end of my runs).

No arch pain and lots of energy. Very good.

JD---it might be that nasty plantar fasciitis! It hits in the heel and the arch )but especially the heel). I ignored mine for too long, so don't do that!!! Do lots of calf stretching, it stretches the arch at the same time and may help!

Nice run, take care!!

Dang it! Sorry about the foot pain. Kelli's right; the plantar faschia inserts at the heel and often causes pain in the heel first. So its is good that it has retreated to its origin. There is a little green ball you can roll under your heel.
