"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

13.7 miles / 8:50 avg. Commute run home. Overcast, 33F. Easy today as I'm just getting miles this week, and I've got this nagging neck/shoulder pain thing the last couple of days. Kind of feels like I slept on it wrong or something.

You are powering on, I need some of your energy! And some of your cold running gear, too. I can not make myself go out there. I am a baby this winter!

I am seriously debating the Buffalo Run now.....what to do. I really am not sure I could finish it and that scares me. I have a deep fear of failure!

Take care of the neck pain, it makes life miserable.

What you need is some percocet and a hot bath. But don't drown. You are awesome btw for running a 1/2 marathon plus just for the miles..Good Job!!

Thanks Kelli. Most days, like today, i just wear shorts and a long sleeve shirt, gloves and a hat. As long as it's not raining/slushing I can stay comfortable on the run with surprisingly little. I'm just discovering this this year of course.

You'll do really well if you do the Buffalo Run. I know because that's how you roll. Maybe I should get me some of that fear of failure and I'll perform better at races!

Thanks Lysa. After all the pain killers this summer from the dental work, I never want to even look at another pain pill! I won't even use ibuprofen anymore. But a hot bath I can do.

You are doing really well in the mileage department.

I hope your neck feels better soon. That's the pits.

I just read all of the info and, man alive, it seems confusing! I am afraid I will get lost! Then I got to the part about animals and what to do about charging Bison....SERIOUSLY???? I am scared. Total chicken.

JD, shorts, really? I shoveled the driveway in shorts today, but my legs turned purple!!!!
