"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

10 miles / easy. From work. Mostly sunny, temps in the low 50's.

The achilles is still tight. No where near how bad it was last week, but still...probably just going to run very easy for a while, focus a lot on form, and hopefully strengthen the problem area. The piriformis didn't whine at all, yay. Most likely no Ogden, unless I get in a stupid mood at the last minute and go for it.

WT 10 miles.

That's a pretty long easy run.

The "easy" always refers to pace. Everything's going to be "easy" for a while.

JD, that sounds promising! Hooray! I'm glad you had a good run and were able to test the waters a bit. I bet it feels good to be back even if it is slow. Good Job!!

Glad to hear the piriformis is feeling better, that is such a pain in the a#$ :)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, May 11, 2011 at 16:28:18 from 198.241.174.15

Yes, but with enough distance, even easy pace becomes hard. I think for me 10 miles would be enough distance, but I guess for you it isn't.

From JD on Wed, May 11, 2011 at 16:52:00 from 70.96.78.149

Lysa - it did feel good. I missed that endorphin fix!

Adam - Lol! Literally a pain in the a#$! It was hurting all the time, especially when driving. I hope it doesn't come back.

Carolyn - I imagine you could probably run 20 miles today if the pace was easy enough.
