"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Oooooh, great splits!!! This is gonna be your year, you are doing GREAT (until next year, when you will be even GREATER, I am sure).

YOU'RE the great one Kelli. Thanks!

Another commute run! You should be jealous of our weather; it is not to be believed. We will probably have to suffer through an ugly summer, though.

Is it easier to run to work or run home from work, or is there a difference? Running to my office is a downhill piece of cake. Running home is, of course, the opposite.

From JD on Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 11:46:37 from 70.96.78.157

Thanks Em - ahhh...Summer...

Carolyn - There's not much difference. Technically, the run from HOME to WORK should be a little easier because of a downhill section around the second mile. Most of the rest of the course is flat, with a couple of short climbs and drops. However, my run home is always substantially quicker, probably due to the fact that I'm running AWAY from work and TOWARDS home! Lol!

Your splits are awesome. Good Job JD

Hey, JD, I just noticed that we are neck and neck these days on the mileage board. Kinda cool, and Carolyn is right there with us. I'll be dropping off, I guess, after next week, as I taper...
