"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

13.4 miles / 8:54 avg.. From work. I dragged myself through the first four miles a little bummed that I still wasn't feeling good. I knew I could still get the miles I wanted, but it's always more enjoyable when I get to run those miles on legs that feel fresh. Knowing that my pace was just going to get worse unless I did something to take my mind off the situation I ran 12 x 1 minute @ 10k to hm pace with a 1 min. break in between. Then I took about a 1.5 mile break on the climb to Emerald park where I got a drink of water, mile 8.7), which was very slow. Then did another 12 x 1 min on/off. Finished the run with about a mile cool down. Whatever. The whole run was basically a 13.4 mile cool down.

WT 69.6 miles

you are so funny. You consider yourself this average runner and then you go and pull off speed work in the middle of a 13 mile run on a WEDNESDAY bc you feel crappy.

From JD on Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 17:14:54 from 70.96.78.149

That's not speed work. More like a "speed enhancer" keeping my overall pace from going "ultra-easy".

whatever. You're still funny.

I wanna run 13.4 mile cool down. Sounds nice.

Last night I had a bad dream that I said something that hurt your feelings. We were together sitting around a round table and Lysa was there. I don't know what I said but...I'm sorry.

I think you said something like: " I don't like running with James - he's too quiet!" Don't worry about it. lol!

From Lysa on Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 19:06:03 from 67.166.122.134

no she said "I don't like running with James, he's such a woman and like when I make fun of him he cries like a big baby." And then you cried like a big baby and Stacie and I laughed and laughed and laughed..then we breathed and laughed and laughed some more. Then you ran away which of course just made us laugh even more. Then we yelled out "woman!" and you yelled back, "I'm not a Woman! You are!" then we said "nice comeback...woman." then we laughed and laughed..
