Pm: 17 miles, averaged 7:14. HRM battery died.

5 up, 10-mile tempo, 2 down

10-mile tempo in 63:10 (6:19 average), which might be my second or perhaps third fastest 10-mile tempo. I think my PR is 1:02:low or 6:13 pace from last fall.

The last mile or so I was wheezing/rasping a good deal and finished around end of half marathon effort. I checked my overall tempo average pace briefly at 5 miles, 8 miles, and 1 mile to go. Otherwise totally by effort.

Dang, nice run. The death of the HR monitor battery might have been the best thing that happened to you today :-)

I've started turning the screen off. This was more steady state effort than marathon pace. I bet that last mile was well over 180 BPM. I'm guessing miles 7-9 were around 175-177 or more, so technically threshold. I just kind of felt like going for it. I was very tired when I got home but I was pleased with the effort.

Might jump into a local half later in the fall. This gives me an idea of what I could run in an all out effort.
