Similar run to yesterday but with more detours because I had to take the sidewalks because it was getting dark and I missed a few lights. Lots of snow, ice, and puddles. 2 mile warm up, then 8 mile AT progressivish tempo (splits deviate more based on conditions. Effort felt about even until the last 2 miles): 7:25, 7:21, 7:18, 7:14, 7:13, 7:09, 7:02, 7:13 (lots of sidestepping and ice on this on. Pace was slow (7:14), but effort felt correct. Sore throat last night and this morning. It's been two years since I have had a full-on cold, so I am hoping this one exorcizes itself without further ado. 1.5 mile cool down with w/ a brief lower 5-minute range pick up.

Oh, yeah. It's my 1-year blog anniversary. Happy anniversary blog!

Happy Blog Anniversary - Nice effort under the conditions. I have a renewed appreciation for the challenges of runners who have to deal with actual wintry weather on a regular basis.

It's not so bad here, especially last year. I think I was only in winter gear from about late Nov to late February (one storm of 6-7 inches and a few small ones of 2-4 inches). My parents often get 12 inches at a time in Maine. I think when I am rich and famous I'll come train in Florida in the winter months :)

Nice run, sounds like the snow and ice present a bit of a challenge.

And happy blogiversary (that's the proper term). I definitely would not have made as much progress w/o FRB, it's a great tool.

It wasn't too bad. Nothing like the 2 x 4 mile workout the Hansons have their runners do (see vo2 max productions video on youtube in which Kevin Hanson gets after a guy for running too slow on an iced over trail. Crazy).

I agree. My running would have progressed without it, but not in the same way. And the community is fantastic.
