North side - 5.25 miles, averaged 7:50. Fat and flat is the new lean and mean. I did manage some low 4-minute, peak-paced strides in my Kinvaras. I love and hate those squishy blue beauts.

I'm a bit obsessive about my nutrition, so I am getting something here and bringing it with me. If the TSA take it, well, I guess I will be eating gels on fruit for dinner.

You're probably flustered given that you've lost a day and all that, but don't worry, it will not hinder you:)

Remember, don't go out too fast. If you hold back, you'll be surprised what you can do in the final 6-7 miles.

Good luck on the '19th':)

The idea is not to speed up until after the hills (I think I can legitimately call them that) after mile 10. I'm going to try to stay under 6:50 but above 6:40 for the first 10 miles. But I'll make adjustments accordingly. If it feels too slow? Great.

Most people who have run a marathon or two (and lore as well) tell us that 20 miles is the breaking point. For me it's 23 and 24. But I've gone 24 in training and spent the same amount of time on my feet as my goal time. Today I was upset about running just over 5k, but at that stage in the marathon 5k can seem like 50k. You'll learn this someday, Bam :) Of course you could have completed a spectacular series of sub-2:30s in your Ninja Training and we would never know1

I doubt I could break 3hrs at the moment; in fact, I doubt I could keep going for 26 miles. My longest run is 10 miles. That said, I'm getting faster and fitter and lighter:)
