PM: 10.3 miles easy.

As I was working on my syllabi last night (avoiding them), I remembered that I didn't do an end of year recap. It's mostly numbers and random, unconnected thoughts.

Total Miles: 3948 (a PR by 300+ miles)

Hours: 544:45 (from Strava)

Avg pace: 8:18

Easy/Quality: 89%/11%

Races: 18 (a PR)

5 PRs (mile, 5k, 10k, half, marathon). Some 10 mile and 15k PRs enroute but no actual splits I don't think.

I had some really good workouts as well. I was able to get 6 mile repeats under 5:40 pace (I think my best was maybe 5:45 before that). I was able to get my 8-10 mile tempos under 6:20 pace for the first time ever. I logged more miles with Megan, and spent a lot more time on the trails. I've also run with more people than I ever have. I need to do that more.

Goals for 2016? Set PRs at all distances maybe. Try to maintain the balance of fun/drive in running that helps me in other areas of my life without being too running focused. Try not to buy too many shoes :-)

Cheers.

I like it. My goals with running are somewhat similar ...balance!

It's been fun, insightful and motivational to see the hardest working guy on the blog make the biggest improvements. Keep it up, can't wait to see what you will do.

Between this entry and Joe's charts I am motivated to eventually do something of a 2015 recap when I have some time and before it gets too late.

You had an awesome year Jason. You definitely set the bar high for yourself and had some challenging goals. Five PRs!!

I like that you have an average pace for the entire year. Technology!

That is kind of interesting about the AP for the year. I remember you saying you did a lot of 9+ min miles.

Jake, throw in some polynomial regression analysis and you will win the blog for 2015.

Great year Jason. You are going to want to look back at that entry a few years from now - hopefully seeing even more progress from where you are now.

Great recap, your efforts really paid off in your racing and PRs. Balance is a key goal for all runners, especially those setting aggressive goals. Your inclusion of "fun" is a big part of that.

Strong running and success in all you do in 2016!

That's an excellent year all around, Jason. It was a lot of fun to follow your running. You put in great training, and stayed steady through the ups and downs.
