trail half today, didn't know how off-road it would be, but it was completely offroad and single-track. Lots of fun but really hard on the legs, picked the wrong race shoes (my flats). was very happy with my effort, usually on hills and tough off-road races, I struggle, but I battled in this one and averaged right around 7:00 for the race. some of the downhills I ran 6:30s and even a 6:14 but some of the uphills were high 7s and even an 8+. different world for a road racer like me, but the scenery was amazing and it was fun to switch it up. The race also took place between 6000-6500 feet, so elevation higher than even where I live in Thornton. Overall, it was a good training excerise and getting those hills in will be beneficial moving forward. May have dinged up my foot, but I dont think its anything serious.
