Got some speed going today. Did a mile warmup then dropped right into it, 2x1600 at very hard effort. did a mile cooldown easy between the 2 mile repeats, had a little tailwind that helped, but for the most part the efforts were true. mile splits were quite good: 1- 4:59.4 2- 4:56.5 Haven't hit mile repeats like that since college, definitely a positive sign going forward. Cooled down for 3 and change. All told, a great effort workout and a nice marker of my current fitness. Hoping for some fast races in May and June starting next weekend with a local 5k I won last year.
