AM - 15.1 Big Workout #5 warm up, 7 MP, cool down. Somehow I slept through the alarm this morning. I woke up to a strange dream and thought, "No big deal. The alarm should be going off any minute anyway." So I rolled over and saw that the clock said 4:45! I grabbed it and saw that it was set right, I just somehow slept in 45 minutes. So I totally missed the Circle of Trust. Sorry guys, I hope you didn't wait too long for me. I couldn't believe it. So I just went out to the fields and decided to shorten my warm up and cool down to 3.5 each. Then I got into the MP and it went pretty well. About 1/2 right on and 1/2 just a few seconds slow (with a 15 second slow 6th) - that's where good workout partners come in, you all just feed off each other and pull each other and don't have those slips, hopefully. Snagged another mile in the cool down and had to cut it at that. (Landreth black131.3) afternoon - 5.15 up to on Foremaster with a few different groups of kids and then the Car Wash Trail. AM - 10 Green Springs and 2xAC with a couple laps. My knee has been giving me some problems still. I think the bruising was pretty deep from the fall. It is very stiff and uncomfortable all the time with occasional shooting pains. (Landreth 468.35) noon - 5 Mall run. Sneaked it in before afternoon parent/teachers. This is such a beastly week with P/T and other school stuff along with just being ready to back off training. (Cumulus blue 395.4)

AM - 10 Middleton. I really had a hard time getting up today. The run went well and the temps are amazing in the morning, but I just did not want to get up and do it. I am worn down - mostly from things other than running, but it is taxing on me. Now to figure out how to get 8 more in today with P/T afternoon and night, practice, and family commitments. (Stratus Bee 294.55)
noon - 8 3 barefoot on the grass, warmup and then dogpound w/ Ashley as she did AT, and cool down. Got the run in and it felt pretty good to have just a little bit of a pickup with Ashley as she did a very solid AT. (Cumulus silver 591.85)

| | AM -16 Big Workout #4. 4 mile warm up, 2 Tinman, 8x1000's, 4 cool down. What a morning. Met up with Logan with the only thought on my mind being just get this crap done. Main goal was to have the workout be better than the last time when I struggled to even finish. I thought if I hit 3:16's for the first 4, I would be solid to finish with 1 second improvements to the end. I hit 3 of the first 4 at 3:16, with the 3rd at 3:17. Then brought it down to 3:15, 3:13, 3:14, 3:12. I was pleased. Still not as good as the first time when I took some under 3:10, but it was solid. It was amazing to watch Logan kill his workout. He is so smooth and fast; truly amazing! Had a good chat as we cooled it down and called it a day. (Cumulus white 282.25) | Comments(3) |

AM - 9 DI/2xAC and some laps. Legs were pretty flat. Breakfast after was pretty solid. (Landreth black140.3) afternoon - 4 barefoot on baseball field. Although it might sound tedious to just run laps on the field, it is actually pretty nice and goes by fast. I really wish there was a large grass park around that I could just run for miles on barefoot.

| | morning - 22.9 Oak Grove to Middleton. Caught a ride up to Oak Grove to meet with Clyde and Logan and the Circle of Trust was back in effect. Started the run at the top of the hill just after the Oak Grove turn off and ran around the base of Pine Valley down to Turkey Farm; then at the water tank cut off to the T-Bone Trail and down to Clyde's. Although we never burned up anything, the pace was solid throughout, especially considering the climbs and only being on road for about 1/2 for the whole run. A lot of fun, and nice to take the mind off the tough training we have been putting in. (Cumulus white 305.15) Good week; even better to have it done. Goals for next week: Again, #1 goal is to stay healthy. Enjoy the taper with just 75 on the docket and sharpen the saw a couple times with a little turnover on two Big workouts (that really shouldn't be too bad).
