AM - 16 Big Workout #6 supposed to be a progression of 3 Tinman, 4 MP, 3 LT after warmup and cooldown to finish.  Logan and I warmed up 5 and started into the Tinman.  That was fine, but I felt a bit of leg fatigue.  Moving into the MP, I just couldn't do it.  First one was close then I dropped back to Tinman and my goal became to just finish the workout there - I could tell there was nothing and I just kept thinking, "How much more of this crap can I take?"  But I only need to take 1 1/2 weeks more of it.  Coming back up the trail toward the Dixie Center, I knew I would need to really stay focused to even hit the Tinman, but as I came around the sharp corner just past the driving range, I caught my foot on the edge of the trail and ate it hard.  It knocked my breath out and totally cut up my knee and whole right side.  I took a few minutes to try and get myself back together and decided to get moving again.  Needless to say the next 2 1/2 weren't great, but really not too far off of Tinman that I was hitting before.  It was a pretty nasty fall, and I think I'll be feeling it for a few days.  Even though the workout wasn't very good, at least I tried.  I'll get the next one better.  (Landreth black 94)

afternoon - 5 Dogpound w/ warmup and cool down.  I was a bit worried as I was limping and bruised, but it felt okay to run.  There is some pain though that's for sure.  (Cumulus silver 586.85)

Good job man. Sorry I left you hanging this morning. Sucks about the fall. I've almost ate it there a couple times this summer.

Dave, great workout today. I feel guilty about the fall. Thats were the Bermuda Triangle was running today. You know what happens when you enter the triangle,(jk). Glad you were ok. Hey, its getting close, alot of excitment in the air!

Dave, sorry about the fall. Ouch. I know how it feels to fall in the dark. very impressive you got up and finished the work out.

Sorry about the fall... takes dedication though to get up and try to stay at the pace you were at before the fall. I hope there's no soreness, and if so that it heals quickly. Really though the important thing is you made it through the run. Natural fatigue going to set in with the high miles and hard workouts that you've been doing. But you can look back at the workouts when you PR St. George.

Thanks guys - Mike was that you that said my name? I figured but didn't see your truck at the parking lot. At that point I had just started going again and was still a bit in a haze!

Dave- I'm not sure what you have planned for a run this Saturday, but was wondering if you want to get together again. I am staying at the same place and I am planning on doing 24 miles. If you are at the same hotel I could run by your place this time.

Sorry to hear about the fall, but way to push it through with the workout. You guys have put in lots of great miles this summer and pay day is not too far away. Bull was right when he said he knows how it feels to fall in the dark, he also knows how it feels to fall in the daylight.

Also, Dave I just heard about the news with Ally the other day, sorry I'm so slow with things. I hope all is going to be alright. Are thoughts are with you guys.

Wow you run so far to bad about the fall though.

From The Beast on Wed, Sep 10, 2008 at 23:51:08

You can endure more pain than anyone I know. YOU would make PRE proud.

From James Holt on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 01:07:22

You must be a Holt if you wipe out while running. Take it easy and dont mess up your body this close to the goal.
