AM - 6 Pine Valley. This run has the combo of why I love/hate trail running. The boys wanted to get a few more runs before they head out on their missions, so this morning we went up PV from the Oak Grove side. It is a brutal run/hike climbing like 5000 feet inthe 3 miles, which means it is mostly hiking. But it is so beautiful up there. Even with a bit of dust and smoke in the air, you can see everything for 180+ degrees; basically all of Washington County and down to e Grand Canyon. The run down was fun but treacherous and my legs were wasted. Just over 2 hours up and down. Stopped at the stream for a quick wash off. And I was the only one with the guts to get in. (VertK 309) noon - 8 City Wells. Quick turn around, but I wanted to get a couple more miles in and it is hot today. Full summer afternoon run mode with hat, water bottle, desert run and a stop at the parkway fountain to soak the hat. (Free 932.7) |
