| | 1 hr 6 m. Tough run. Not used to distance. |
| |
29.09 minutes total. Not sure about distance. Need to get a GPS. Focused on form, posture, and attacking hills (2 hills on loop)
| | Took a break from studying this afternoon. Went on a long leisurely run with a couple of classmates around Grays Lake/Des Moines metro. I forgot how nice it is to have the company of others on runs. Tomorrow I will be attending a biomechanics and sports medicine lecture series. One of the topics will be common running injuries - should be interesting. | |
| | Ran with 2 other guys from school. One of which is training for his first half-marathon in 3 weeks. We did the trail from Saylorville Dam to campus. Perfect weather | |
| |
16 miles/ 45:16 min. on Stationary bike followed by 2.76 mile run - 18:07 min. I like the new shoes I'm on. |
| |
1st track workout of the year.
1 mile warm up. 6 x 800 with 400 m rest laps. 2 x 400 with 400 m rest laps. 1 mile cool down.
| |
1hr 27 min. It was a good run.
| | 44:33 min. Nice day to run. 60 degrees | |
| | Just got back from a late-night run. 35:13 min. I think right around 5 miles. It's a nice time to run- quiet, no cars. | |
| | 43.53 min. 6.3 miles according to mapmyrun.com. I found this website to gauge my distance, hope it's accurate. Tried to find a new route today...there'a a nice trail around DMACC pond. It was nice, will keep this route. | |
| | Did a run with Jake and Adam, some classmates around Des Moines/Grays Lake. Jake is running his first half-marathon next weekend. He'll be ready; he's running with a lot of confidence. |
| | Haven't run in a few days...our beautiful baby girl was born on 4/18/09. Same day as my wife...what a birthday surprise. | |
| |
ran 3 miles and biked 10. I've been sick with a sore throat and a cough for about a week...feeling so tired all the time and haven't been able to run for all that time. I had a few hours after taking a test today and decided to try exercising as treatment, hoping that somehow I could "sweat" out the virus. I actually felt pretty good throughout and afterward. My cough didn't get any worse, which I thought maybe it would. At least I felt like I had a good reason to feel so tired.
| | I think 6 miles...ran along a nice trail through some parks and along the des moines river. After reading some Boston race reports and about London, I'm getting anxious to run a marathon...it's been awhile since I last run one. Maybe this Fall...schedule permitting. | |
| | Another late night run...I seem to enjoy the quietude. |
| |
Got home at 9 pm and went for about 4 miles. Good weather |
| |
Grahm took Jake and I to a lake outside of Des Moines and we did a loop around it - almost all of it on grass, mud, and slosh. It was a lot of fun. Nice weather...storm had just cleared up and we had sunny skies.
| |
Good day for a run..cool temp, clear skies. went to Saylorville lake. I am glad that I was able to get over 30 miles this week.
| |
Ran around DMU Campus. Saw a blue bird.
| |
I did the same route as last Sat...out to Saylorville Dam. It was a bit windy, but not too overbearing. Same time as last week as well...1:29
| |
It's been a long time since I ran an early morning run. Nice and quiet. |
| | Tried out my mom's garmin...pretty nice tool. | |
| |
Went to the track:
two 1600's followed by six 800's
Actually warmed up, stretched and cooled down properly...for once. |
| | Ran along the trail that winds around Saylorville. Lots of ups and downs. My mom was able to come along as well. | |
| | Went to the track: 1 mile warm-up. 4 miles tempo-pace. 1 mile cool down | |
| Race: |
Dam to Dam (20K Des Moines, IA) (12.4 Miles) 01:25:00
Will input official race time, place, etc. once it gets posted on the race's website. According to my watch, I completed the distance in 1:24:58. Nice day for a run and to be part of the 6500 that entered the race. Good cloud cover during the first half and then the sun came out as well as the heat. Pretty sure I ran the second 10K a bit slower than the first 10K. I was glad that I survived the distance in one piece. I'm never really ever prepared to run these type of races. Will pick a race to run in the fall, most likely Living History Farms Cross-country race in Nov.
