HOW can running a canyon be easy????
From fly on the Wall on Tue, Aug 02, 2011 at 14:00:29 from 204.113.19.47
S L O W is easy and I was very S L O W!

Really? We discussed this as we ran up American Fork Canyon on Saturday. If it gets too slow, I would rather walk. It is more efficient and I am a faster walker than I am a slow runner!
However, I know your slow and you were moving fast enough to not slog I am sure!

Sounds like a good, slow run.
From fly on the Wall on Tue, Aug 02, 2011 at 14:12:02 from 204.113.19.47
I walked a few overly steep sections. I also stopped to watch a moose and a deer, look at the multitude of wild flowers, water a tree, check out Doughnut Falls, and... See what I mean? EASY!
From Kelli on Tue, Aug 02, 2011 at 14:21:47 from 71.219.99.3
OK, easy. I believe you!!! AND I am glad the moose did not chase you. They can be mean!

You see a moose on your run, and it's not even part of your original blog??? Is this a common occurrence where you are? How cool is that!

I hear you about walking the really steep sections. Last week on vacation I ran some mountain trails with sections I had to walk.

I forgot about the mouse when I originally posted. They are not supper common. I probably see one every couple of years is all.
Doughnut falls is a creek cascades through a "doughnut hole" in the rock and falls out the bottom. It is pretty and thinking about it makes me hungry.
I'm off to check out Rhett's vacation mountain run.

MOUSE???? Now come on, those are not all that scary. ;o)

Of Moose or Men
From Kelli on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 12:40:10 from 71.219.67.82
I actually thought about it and a mouse might really scare me mid run.
From MarcE on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 13:05:11 from 204.16.82.120
I heard if you honk your horn at a mouse, it might try to ram your car! I'm pretty sure it will just bounce off the bottom of your tire. :)
I had to avoid a 4-ft rat snake on the trail on Saturday morning...sort of scared the bejeebers out of me!
From Rhett on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 13:15:21 from 74.32.220.216
I hate snakes!
From Kelli on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 13:25:42 from 71.219.67.82
THIS is why I do not run on trails. Snakes, mice....the occasional moose. All I have to deal with in Herriman are deer and chickens. ;o)
From fly on the Wall on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 17:24:24 from 166.70.192.189
Alektorophobia Kelli?
I saw a midget faded rattlesnake Wednesday night, but I wasn't running....

No fear of chickens, but ducks can be vicious!
