Hour of conditioning in the morning, got in two miles and a lot of good core.
Meeting with the university of Alabama XC/ distance coach later today! Hopefully it goes well.
Manohmanohmanohman I hate humidity. And warm weather. I decided to start my run at 4:00 PM, in the middle of the blazing day. It was awful. The sidewalk I ran on for the first two miles was nonexistent, so I ran on loose gravel/overgrowth instead. Once I got past that I ran past the U of A track to the soccer fields and ran around there a bit. Ran around the parking lot after. I felt dead today, my legs were way tired, then I looked at the pace and knew why. 6:38 avg pace. I was sure it would be 7:30, I stopped at like 5 red lights. Oh well. There's a pool next to our condo/dorm, and the water is FREEZING. PERFECT. Sat it that for a few minutes, after stretching.
Meeting went pretty well. I really like Coach Walters. Since I have my 33 ACT and current 4.0 GPA, the school already gave me full ride, so he wouldn't have to pay a nickel to have me run for him. He laid out somewhat reasonable times. 1:55 800m, 4:23 1600m, and 9:38 3200m. He told me to email him every week about how I've been performing and hopefully I'll drop some times soon to make him proud. I think with my 4:46 from last year the 1600's my best bet. If I make any of those times, I'm automatically on the Track/XC team for Alabama. Any advice on how to get those times, however, would be greatly appreciated because I think Mason, Christian, and Aaron are the only three runners coaches care about right now on the team haha. Or advice on how to handle humidity/70+ weather. Thanks.
