Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | 7:10 pace, west river north. Had to leave early (6:45) so I could be at a meeting, and the sun was barely up at all by the time I came back.

| | 6:53 pace, straight on Como to the lake. Today was my worst weather mis-estimation in a while. It was 39 degrees, but I was anticipating sleet and heavy winds. Turns out the wind was moderate and there was hardly any rain, so I had to take off my hat and quarter zip.

| | 7:13 pace, Cleveland ave run. I went back through my logs today and saw that I continued running in the afternoon frequently as far as April and even May / June this year. That surprises me. As of right now, I place greater value on the benefits that come from running in the morning. I know I have a lot of afternoon runs coming up, but I hope I can get back to morning runs ASAP.

| | For having run last night, potentially snowed this morning, and 15 mph winds, much of today's run wasn't too bad. It did get pretty bad on the way back when heavy winds blew snow through the air. My pace was eyebrow-raising slow: 6:48s. I guess that is somewhat believable given that the Lake Johanna route was already a slow one. When you combine that with the wind, snow, and ice, I guess it approaches being reasonable.
