Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

AM: Bad sleep last night. I just ran normal, not the workout. Bummed. My foot hasn't felt super well. Hopefully today will give me another data point and I can work out tomorrow.

PM: 5 miles. Foot felt better. I'll try working out tomorrow.

Ran longer today, long story. Weird though, it felt too long to be a short run and too short to be a long run. Have a really busy day today!

Didn't get on my run till 9 AM (long story again) and was quite worried about the heat. By a miracle, there were a few sprinklers on that I could get soaked under. That was an amazing feeling. And the water fountain on the SF river trail was working. This allowed me to do all my mileage this morning instead of doing a double. I even swung on the rope swing on the way back. Only downside besides a little tightness in achilles was that once again I overestimated mileage.
