Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Good morning workout on Carterville road. We did a 2-5 fartlek. 2 min on, 5 off. Based on what josh was hitting, it looks like I was usually in the 4:20-4:25 pace range. I was kind of surprised at first, but then again, my goal isn’t to break 16 in the 5K this year. That was very appropriate in terms of pace based on my goals this year. Weights.

17 mile long run. We both felt very dehydrated by the end. We made it a good way up onto Murdock canal trail. Sometime it would be fun just to do 17 or 18 miles straight and have a car waiting at the end. I think we were averaging somewhere in the 6:20 range.
