Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | Run at deep creek lake. Wind was supposedly almost 25 mph so I overdressed. Ran hard but the 6:45-6:49 pace seems like a mistake. Rain on and off.

| | For the second day in a row at Deep Creek, this run was not as bad as it could have been. This time it was 15 degrees, again with high winds, and snowing the whole time, with a coating of snow on the ground. Roads weren't slippery, however. The sketchiest part was on the trails at Fork Run. I heard a creaking in the wind, and looked up to see a couple trees had already snapped halfway up, but hadn't fallen completely because the tops had been caught on other trees.

| | 7:03 pace. First run on W&OD westbound in a week since coming to VA. And my last run of the year! 2025 has been my 2nd highest mileage year of all time, I think. I have now run 7 consecutive years of >3000 miles, and likely hit about 25,000 miles since 1/1/2018, the fastest period in which I have run around the earth's circumference!!!

| | 6:45 pace. I went the other direction on Battlefield parkway. I had thought I might be able to do the full loop, but now I see that would've taken at least 12 miles. There was a dusting of snow which allowed me to see my own footprints for much of the way back. Felt tired. Saw a car three times driven by someone who must have been as drunk as a duck.

| | 6:37 pace, mostly in Celebration, Florida. Wow, that was fun! Virginia and Oregon are both warmer than Minnesota but Florida is on a whole different level and I loved running in the warm weather. It was awesome to run on wooden boardwalks through the jungle-ish vegetation, and pass by beautiful lakes with interesting birds. The greenery just smells different here, which is fun. It reminded me of NOLA but less shoddy.

| | 6:09 pace. I did the same route, but found the correct way to extend the run and then continued on to Island Village. As I read about how many miles people walk at Epcot (7-10+ they said), it definitely worried me. Plus, I had to wake up at 5:20 for this. The entire first half of the run was basically in total darkness. Thankfully, the boardwalks were well lit. Apparently Disney designed the Celebration community- no wonder it is so charming and walkable. Blisters got bad.
