Well I didn't run last Friday so I could play basketball Friday night. During the game I jumped up to defend a guys shot. He waited until I was on my way down, then he jumped into my ribs on my left side. I am pretty sure I broke 2 or 3 ribs. So I haven't been running since. Walking and even breathing haven't been super fun lately, so I couldn't imagine running would feel very nice either.
Today I decided to give running a go. The first 1/4 of a mile were pretty painful, but I pushed through and was eventually able to bear the pain. I got 7 miles in. They were hard. I don't know if it has to do more with broken ribs, or taking a week off, but I felt out of gas only about 3 miles into the run.
