Once again I have taken quite the break from running and have become really good at eating. I stopped running a while back because I got shin splints, so I thought I would take time off and let them recover. I also bought new shoes, but unfortunatley I went for price rather than quality. I took them out for the first time last thursday, and within half a mile my shins were killing me, even though I had taken a couple of months off. Running on shoes that were as soft as lumber and having gained quite a bit of weight didn't seem to help my shins at all.

So, I bought new running shoes again. They should be here in the next few days. Until then, I am wearing my old shoes and keeping my miles low. I obviously didn't want to keep it as low as 1.68 miles, but my calves were super tight during this run. Hopefully I can get some things figured out and get back to running.

3 miles. Legs started to get stiff again around 2.5 miles. I was planning on doing 4 miles, but cut it short. I felt a lot better today than I did yesterday and last thursday. Hopefully I can just get a little better each day.
