Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to run an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the marathon.

 Stay healthy!  (My biggest challenge!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

I ran a progression run today with the East High team down at Liberty Park.  We warmed up by running to Collin's house to drag his butt out of bed and to practice. This gave us about half a mile.  Then we ran four laps around the outside loop of Liberty Park.  Each loop is half of a mile.  We were supposed to get 15 seconds faster on each loop.

Loop 1: 10:52.7 (easy pace, maybe too easy)

Loop2:  9:53.3 (Oops! I caught the boys on this loop)

Loop 3:  9:30.98 (Another oops.  Now I'm getting tired)

Loop 4:  9:30.84 (Didn't have the stamina to pick it up, but at least I finished even. Stefan and Ben buried me on this one, finishing about 20 seconds ahead of me.)

Total time: 39:47  Next time I would start my first lap a little faster, and then stick to the progressions better.  Hopefully next time I will finish stronger.

Bill and I ran one more perimeter loop for a cool down.  8 miles total.
