Tough day for me on the marathon course.  I was ready to drop out numerous times, but ended up finishing in 3:34:40. Fortunately Bill came by about .5 from the finish and helped encourage me to make it to the end.  This was my 13th marathon overall and 9th STG.  I felt decent the first half, but the second half was brutal.  Right now I have no desire to run another marathon anytime soon.  I've never felt comfortable with longer distances, and often question why I even sign up to run marathons when I really don't enjoy them that much.  One thing I do know I'm not going to sign up for another marathon until I've lost at least 15 pounds.  Right now I'm just too heavy and out of marathon shape both physically and mentally.

On a more positive note.  I was happy to see so many of my friends run well today.  Many had personal bests and great performances.  I felt terrible after the race and left right away so I didn't get to talk to very many people.

Great job, finishing! I had a similar experience a few weeks ago at TOU marathon. However, I finished in 3:57.
