I haven't ran a half marathon race since 2017.  I really didn't know what to expect going into this race.  I've been able to lose 35 pounds since January and my running has been a lot more consistent, however I have not done any runs longer than 8 miles so I was a little worried about going 13 miles.  It was kind of lonely not running this race with any friends.  I just sat there for an hour before the start, cold and not sure if this was going to be a good day or not.

I started out and felt good, felt like I was running too easy.  I actually felt like I was trying to hold back, but looking back I still started out too fast. It was also weird, 3 miles into the race I had to go the bathroom, I stopped again at mile 8, which is way too many times for a half marathon.

I was happy with the first 5 miles, mile 6 was a struggle and I wanted to drop out, ended up walking some during this mile. mile 7 was good, mile 8 stopped again for the bathroom. Basically miles 9-13 were a combination of run and then walk some.

Finish line was fun seeing Sunny, Joslin, Eileen, Jordan, Camille, Flint and Ivan.

Overall, I'm happy I was able to finish this race, and I think this will give me some confidence to try another half marathon in the near future.  I still need to lose more weight.  Ideally another 25 pounds would be good.

Bummed my apple watch went into low power mode at mile 11. I ended up taking out the earbuds and did the last 2 miles with no music.
