Another good day of running, this afternoon I had my wife drive me up to the start of the Hurricane Half Marathon. My goal was to get in 10 to 11 solid miles. I began at 4:30 so it was still rather warm and really windy this afternoon. I had to fight a headwind almost the entire run. Anyway, I started out feeling pretty good and figured if I could keep the miles between 7:00 and 7:30 pace that would be fine. Mile 1- 6:58 felt easy, a little pain in my ankle, 2-6:44 relaxed, 3-6:48 another good mile, 4-7:05 slight uphill, 5-7:11 more gradual uphill and fighting the wind, 6-7:27 overall the 7 minute guy has caught back up to me and is ready to race, 7-7:36 another hard mile uphill and getting a little tired, I'm looking forward to a quick and much needed water stop on this mile, 8-6:42 beginning of the downhill time to put some distance on the 7 minute guy, 9-5:57 I opened it up some on this mile which is a steep downhill, 10-6:20 turn onto La Verkin's Main Street and decide to continue pushing the pace a little, 11-6:36 finish with a decent mile. Overall time 1:15:31 average 6:52. Once I got into my neighborhood I slowed things down and did an easy mile cool down to make it 12 for the afternoon. This was a good run, I didn't feel wiped out, infact I felt pretty good during the run and afterwards. I just need to do more runs around this distance and pace.(DS Trainer 208)

Hey Dustin?

welcome back to marathon training! That head wind is something else.

I am in Dude. Ogden or bust. Can we stay at your place up there?

We do need to get in some longer runs. I have done only one 20 plus this year. I am thinking about not running the utah ariz boarder race on the 28th and running a long run that day instead? or we could race, then go out 13 more?
