Didn't make it over to run with Steve and Bill this morning. I guess Steve had to cancel also. Anyway around noon I had to take the explorer over to get new tires put on, so I just decided to get some miles in while waiting. I ended up doing 10 miles from Discount Tires then down to the river trail and back up River Road. The first six miles were good around 7:15 pace. The last 4 were slower around 8:00 pace. It was already getting pretty warm around 90 when I started. Sounds like everybody had a good time running the Ogden Marathon.

It is really helping me now that Sunny is getting into running. It makes it that much easier to get out and do some easy miles, when you have somebody to go with and talk to. I was able to get 6 more easy miles in tonight, which helped me reach my weekly goal of at least 60 miles per week. I have set this as my bare minimum for weekly mileage throughout the summer (unless my body or an injury tells me otherwise, I will shoot to run at least 60 miles a week through the summer. The main goal will be to work up to 80-90 miles a week. I've never in my life done more than that, so I'm not sure how the body would respond.

The run tonight was down through the Overlook Subdivision, then up to 100 East. After 3.25 miles I dropped Sunny and Jarren off. He feel asleep again in the stroller while I was pushing him. Then I took off and did another 2.75 over toward Hurricane and back. I about got ran off the road, by our great La Verkin City Police Officer, who was driving about 90 mph to investigate something, of course he didn't have his lights on nor siren, which is really what upset me.

Anyway, glad the week is over. After the run Thursday night and then all day yesterday, my legs were really sore. I did some stretching last night and iced a little bit and seemed to feel a bit better today. However, I still ready for a day of rest.

60 miles minimum sounds like a great start, and getting up to 80-90 soon will really pay off in terms of faster times later this year. I guarantee it!

Good job Dustin. Thats a great run and some solid base. You are doing great and so is Sunny. She is really running well. Good job converting her over.

Yeah Joe is going to be running with me all summer and you can come run with us whenever you want. We are going to get our cross country team and build up some mileage but Joe and I will probably go on our own a lot. Your welcome to come anytime.
