Basketball this morning. 6 mile easy run tonight, calf felt a little tight and hips are back to bothering me. I think it might be the extra weight I'm carrying in all the wrong places. Anyway the run tonight was decent, just wanted to take it easy and race the 8 minute guy. I ended up beating him by 11 seconds for a 7:49 average. Ran over to Hurricane and back.

You better be careful! I would hate to have to run the race on Sat by myself! Well wait I probably will anyway. Glad your having fun at bball again!

I concure with your woman. you better be carefull!

From Dustin on Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 12:53:01

I know I try my hardest to be careful. Probably once school is out I will start running more in the mornings and then again in the evening. I really think it would be nice if we could get a pool figured out, that would give us another way to exercise during the heat of the day.

Hey great run on sat. Thanks for the motivation. I wish I could run with all of you more often. I look forward to all of us having a great St. George Marathon this year.

Not that you would really want to do this because I know its your passion, but have you considered not playing basketball for a while and just try to run. I know that when I was playing racquetball and running I kept getting sore until I completely quick playing racquetball two years ago. Even though it was hard to give up racquetball I wanted to become a better runner and it solved my issues.

But there's more things enjoyable in life than running.

Well said Kory, I really should give up the bball. I just wish I could get as excited about getting up in the morning to run as I do to go and play basketball.

From wheakory on Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 12:47:49

I heard ya. I get excited when I shoot the basketball around. I bought a really nice spring action, fiberglass backboard basketball hoop for our kids in our back yard. I love playing, and it excites me more than running does. I think with running sometimes it can become a chore to use and we just have days/weeks where we don't really want to do it.

Just hang in there, and do what you feel that makes you happy that's the important thing.

Good Luck on the treadmill tonight! It was a hot one today for me this morning! I was burning up a lot more than I usually do.
