Look out world, I've been given the all clear to run easy on flat soft surfaces. My family doc who is a runner declares my ankle free of stress fractures or bone spurs. Just achilles tendinitis - as I figured and hoped. He advised it may take a very long time for it to feel normal again, but I can feel free to ease back into running, avoiding speed work and hill work for a while. The one mile total is for my planned 4 laps around the nice rubber track at the high school after work - will amend appropriately depending on how it actually goes.
