| | Time for a little accountability and self motiviation. My left Achilles has finally turned the corner after 10 months. Ran a non-stop three on the trails this evening with almost no pain. Have been back to running every second or third day for a couple months, but have always walked the steeper sections - not today, baby! Small victories. Short term goal is to crank the milage up to 20 per week slow and steady... and to drop at least ten-twelve pounds during the summer - sheesh.
| |
| | Evening run in the neighborhood after work. Half mile walks before and after with beastie dog... he needs to get back in shape too.
| | Got chased around the lake trail by some friendly deer flies - such a deal. Need to gain fitness fast to escape the buggers.
| | Oddly low humidity and slightly cooler temp this evening for a little run in the neighborhood before prepping the boat for early fishing on the morrow - wooo.
| |
| | Memorial Day morning run with the dog on the trails. Getting better and better each run.
| | Got through about 2.5 miles this evening before the light rain started... was pouring by the time I finished - ah well. Would actually have welcomed it if I was in shape and fully comfortable on my feet.
| | Warm steamy evening run on the trails. Pretty sure I can push the envelope out to 4 miles soon! :)
| | Long run in the books! Yes, 4 miles is a long run for me right now.
| |
| | Drizzly evening run on the trails. Cooled things down nicely and didnt drench me like the other day.
| | Neighborhood run before work - nice coolish morning. Not many of those left for a while I'm sure.
| | Shoulda waited another hour after work before hitting the trails. Hot steamy run, but its in the books, and likely helped the weightloss effort.
| | Cross-training (yardwork and removing old washer and installing new one) yesterday left me a bit sore, so nice easy 4-miler this morning on the trails was welcome.
| | Impressively humid for this evening's run in the neighborhood after bowling and before watching the US win soccer and the Lightning win hockey - what a deal.
| | Four on the trails after work. A little soreness in the peroneal tendon past couple days, but I've been on my feet a lot and haven't had the kinesio tape in place. Will tape it back up and see how it goes.
| | Three in the neighborhood after work. Looking forward to shooting for 15 miles next week! :)
| | Hit the trails fairly early on a Sunday for five miles. Longest run in over a year. Ankle felt really good after the first mile or so. Just some stiffness early on.
| |
| | All the way down to heat index 93 for my run after bowling this evening - bleh. Plugging away.
| |
| | Up and out early enough so that it wasnt quite 80 degrees - ugh. Four in the neighborhood with a half-mile doggie walk after.
| | Afternoon showers cooled things off a bit for an after work run on the trails. Walked about 3/4 mi to warm up instead of the usual 1/4 mi - seemed to help the early ankle soreness I've been having on most runs.
| |
| | Early start to Fathers Day on the trails with deer and bunnies and turkeys and way too many deer flies. All things considered a fine start. Both kids and my parents here all weekend - such a deal.
| | Had to bowl and then watch USA women advance in the World Cup last eve so didnt get my run in until this morning. Very nearly felt like a runner for the 4-miler in the neighborhood. Truckin right a long.
| | Four on the trails after work. Final half mile was about the only stretch that felt decent. Must lose weight! Time to get more consistent with cross training/ resistence work.
| | A brisk 78 degrees and comfy 90% humidity just as the sun rose this morning for my neighborhood 4-miler - could be worse I guess. After a year, I think its finally time to get new shoes - calves a bit sore and haven't really ramped up mileage or changed terrain, so I'm thinking the shoes are finally dead.
| | Well, seems I'm not quite fit enough to run the Lake Jackson Loop 5-miler just yet. Had to cover 6 miles to get 5 miles of running in - lots of walking on the rolling hilly route. Looking back at the month though, I'm satisfied with the progress - 20 miles/week here I come!
| | Planned to run 4 this morning but tweaky little weirdness on top of left foot at about 2 mi. It eased off and likely is just related to new shoes, but will keep track of it.
| | Four on the trails after work. Uncomfortable run in general due to heat and time of day, but ankle was fine today.
| | Much more enjoyable trail run this morning - could be because no work today wooo. Off to Dunedin shortly for the weekend. Will do 2 or 3 easy tomorrow to finish out the week with 18 or 19.
| |
| | Opted for the short run to DHS and then a little obstacle course work to get down to the track. The 7-lane asphalt track - pitiful. |
| | Nice visit with the kids in gatorville on the way home and then the U.S. Ladies go up 4-0 in first twenty min, so I popped out this evening for a good five and a half. | |
| | Failed miserably getting up this morning and out the door, so had to run in the impressive heat after work. Punished myself by following up the run with an hour of yardwork - good cool down :)
| | Decent run in the neighborhood before work. Last mile had to be sub 8 min pace! Its a start.
| | Definitely need to stick with these morning runs - so much cooler than after work. Another terribly acceptable run. Easy few tomorrow morning before hitting the water and I will hit 20 for the week.
