7 miles in new shoes. These are a New Balance  MT20 lightweight trail running shoe. They are a very minimal shoe with just a slight drop from heel to toe. I really liked the feel of these but I do feel just enough difference that I probably won't wear them more than once a week to start with until my achilles and feet get more used to them. The soles [even though they are quite thin] are hard enough that I don't feel the rocks poking through much while running on dirt. I have been doing over half of my running in some New Balance MT101s which are a pretty similar shoe but with just a little more drop from heel to forefoot. 7 miles@8:25 pace.

Ran 8 miles up to the reservoir tonight. I tried to keep my pace slow enough to keep my heart rate under 140. I had to run just over 9 min pace and averaged 138. When I'm in good shape it would be in the 120s at that pace but at least it's a lot better than it was a month ago.
