I was planning to run 6 miles. I jumped a big rooster pheasant just past the 5 mile turn around point and watched where he flew and landed. I decided I had just enough time to make it home to get my shotgun and dogs and drive back up there just before dark. I turned around at that point and was able to make it back up there by with about 15 minutes of shooting light left. My dogs picked up the scent which was strong enough that they went on point a couple of times but then continued on. The bird was running from us and as the dogs tracked him faster I just ran to keep up within shooting range rather than call them back. After about a quarter mile they flushed him and I got him. I guess I should have added another 1/4 mile to my run.

I finally got in a second run for the week. I've been really slacking the last month. I went 5 miles at 8:24 pace.

A very nice day for the end of November. When I ran at noon it was 54 deg with very little breeze. It doesn't get much nicer than that. I ran 8 miles up to the reservoir and back at 8:07 ave pace. I need to get back to running more than 2 days a week. When I don't make it a priority, I just don't seem to find the time.
