Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ.

My goal for todays race was to try and go out fast, anyway fast for me and have a half marathon pr. My best so far in a half was 1:49:33. I seen alot of the old Spanish Fork running group, Pat, Kent, Tom, and Kim. I meet Sasha's wife, very sweet lady by the way. I meet one of the SGM  forum bloggers Tom Slick, was able to run with him for a few miles, thanks for the help during the middle miles Slick  I think it helped me get my pr for this half.marathon. Lots of runners today and as usuall the start was a little disorganized but we expected that and stayed patient. Great weather a little bit warm towards the end but we were able to hang in there. My average pace for the race was 7:56 with a total time of 1:43:23. My mile split's were as follows.

Mile 1. 7:23  A bit fast for me, steep down hill

        2. 7:27  First four mile steep down hill

        3. 7:30

        4. 7:27

        5. 7:48 begining of 2 mile up hill battle, was a supprise

        6. 8:20

        7. 7:45  Some more down hill

        8. 7:33  ran with Slick for a few miles

        9. 7:34

       10. 7:50  Legs starting to feel the strain, energy kind of wack

       11. 8:31  The wheels are starting to come off, trying to hold it together

       12. 9:18  getting chicked like crazy, legs are wack

       13. 8:44  Tryed to finish strong.

By far my best race effort, Need to work more to have better energy for the finish miles, I don't like getting chicked. Need more hill work up and expecially down. See ya Monday.

Curtis great job on the PR effort today. Those middle hill miles and last 2 or 3 miles were tough, way to hang in there and finish strong.

Great job on the PR. Those uphills (on concrete - no less) were pretty wicked.

I did not "chick" you, I stayed a good 30 seconds behind you. You're welcome! KIDDING. But, my goal was to pass every man I saw (kidding again).

Good job! That uphill was unexpected, for sure. But, even worse, was the winding and winding through the shopping center---right past the finish line of previous years. Messes with your head!

Great job Curtis!
