I have ran seven half marathons, some 10k's and 5k"s. My favorite marathon is SGM.I have ran 13 Marathons, will be during my first Ultra in march of 2013, it will be the Antalope Island Buffalo Run, a 50k.

2008 SGM PR 4:02:23 The best is yet to come.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term running goal is to increase my four days a week of running to five to six days a week.  Do more speed work this coming year. Bring my times down. I would like to do SGM in 4 hrs or less.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ.

Personal:

I have been married for 34Years, and am still madly in love with my wife Wendy. I have four children and six Grand children.

My goal for the race today was to get in under the 50 min mark. I hav'nt done a 10k yet under 50 min. This race is almost in my backyard, which is the spanish fork riverbottoms. It is a great place for training and a race. My mile splits are as follows.

Mile 1. 8:37 All uphill, legs felt tight and awkward

2. 7:38 Downhill to flat, starting to feel a good rythum

3. 7:29 Still feeling good

4. 7:40 Have not been chicked yet

5. 7:51 Starting to feel the strain

6. 7:45 Starting to feel pukie

The last .12 was 7:01

This is the best I have felt in a race for a long time. I feel very good about the effort finally a 10k under 50 min with an average pace of 7:49 a good PR. The above splits are according to my garmin and total time of 47:50, give myself a B+. It was good to see some of the spanish fork crowd at the race. great race to Tom and Kim.

Thats a good race Bro! If I'm injured much longer you are going to pass my by, but that's okay:-) You have been working hard and you have been in a good training grove as of late, Keep it up!

Curtis congrats on a great race and PR! You looked really strong coming in. I think all that heat training is starting to pay off. Seems like an A effort to me.

Now if we could just get that brother of yours over the darn injury bug! I'd love to see both of you guys really tear it up at SGM.
