Cold. About 25 this morning. I ran in to work from Spanish. Took Main St. Mapleton to Springville. Thought it would be about 8 miles. Ended up being 10. Made up for skipping Monday.

I ran into work again today. This time I went on the other side of the freeway. I had to watch out for jumbo jets coming in for a landing at Spanish Fork International. I noticed an odd number of smashed mice on the access road between Spanish and Springville. Seemed strange to me since there is nothing but grass fields from the freeway to the lake and those mice felt the need to run out on the road when cars were coming.

This was my second time running this race. We head down to Utah to the in-laws every other year. There are a few turkey trots going on in the Salt Lake area, but this one has the best shirts (although this year's shirt had an ugly red U on the mountain. They will regret that choice on Saturday).

I ran a pretty good race. I wasn't able to keep track of my pace because the battery on my Garmin was dead, but I kept it at a rigorously comfortable pace for the first two miles. It is a pretty hilly race, with a nice downhill at the end. I had enough left in the tank to pick up the pace for the last quarter mile or so and finished almost a minute faster than I ran it two years ago.

Took a run down Bountiful Blvd. while the wife went shopping. A nice crisp morning and a beautiful day. Good run. Better than shopping.

Didn't feel very motivated, but needed to get out and burn off some more turkey. Went along Davis Ave and then down the hill and back on Orchard. Got the blood moving before heading down to Provo to watch the Cougs finish off the Utes.
